Albert and
Mercedes were visiting their daughter at university in Bangor, North Wales and
they went for a drive over the Menai Strait to visit the Isle of Anglesey.
The first village they encountered on the island was
Llanfair-PG, the village with the longest place name in
Eventually, they went for lunch and whilst waiting they asked the waitress if she would be so kind as to ‘very slowly and very carefully’ pronounce the name of the place they were in.
‘Of course’
said the girl: ‘we call it Bur-ger-king’.
